Privacy Policy
There are several places on the web site for the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) where you may choose to provide information about you or your family. Many of the forms (Customer and Stakeholder Satisfaction Surveys, Feedback and Contact Us forms for the online courses, and Publication Order Form) require both an email address and a phone number. The Visitor Survey makes this data optional.
The 2013 Minnesota Legislature passed a bill that revises the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 13 to classify "individual personal e-mail addresses and telephone numbers collected by government entities for notification purposes" as private data on individuals.
As a result of this legislation, most of the information you provide, with one exception, will be classified as public. The exception is when you subscribe to an electronic notification system where you receive automatic email messages about changes or additions to certain pages on the Council or Partners in Policymaking® websites. In this instance, email addresses and telephone numbers are protected.
For information that you have shared and is classified as public, we must give access to or provide a copy of that information if someone makes a request. We do not advertise the availability of public data about you nor do we offer it for sale or distribution. We keep data for an indefinite period of time.
The GCDD continues to uses cookies on its web site to make the site easier to use. However, no personally identifiable information is collected or transmitted by these cookies and these cookies are deleted after one hour.
The GCDD web sites are hosted by the MN.gov Portal, operated by MN.IT Services. The Portal uses cookies to collect web site statistics that are used to evaluate the effectiveness of our web sites.
