2026-28 Renewal Period Now Open

Renewal Reminder

All licenses and certificates will expire on June 30, 2026, regardless of when in the biennium the license or certificate was issued. NOTE: There is no grace period with license and certificate expiration. If you need to practice or hold out in Minnesota, you will need to renew ahead of the June 30 deadline. Now is the time to start planning for your renewal:

  • Know your license or certificate number and the last four digits of your ID number.
  • Gather your continuing education information for July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026 (or the date you renew, whichever comes first). Click the PDH Requirements button below for additional information.
  • Have your credit card ready before starting your renewal. For security purposes, the electronic payment system will time out if you do not finish your payment transaction within a reasonable amount of time.
Please visit the Renewals Overview page for more information.

PDH Requirements FAQs

Retiring? Let the Board Know!

If you are retired and do not wish to renew your license but would like to be listed on the Board's roster as "retired" rather than "expired," please email aelslagid@state.mn.us to request that change.

You may continue to use your professional title, preceded by the term "Retired" (i.e., John Doe, Retired Architect), but you may not practice or do anything that requires a current license. This requirement is described in MN Statute 326.02 Subd. 1.

Note: The Board cannot “hold” requests for retired status. Do not submit your request until you are ready to have your status changed. The change is immediate, once your request is processed.

Board Member Appointments and Reappointments

Governor Tim Walz has appointed Stacee Demmer to fill a vacant one-year term as Licensed Architect on the Board, and Carolee Lindsey to a four-year term as a Public Member of the Board.

In addition, the Governor also reappointed Jason Amberg (Landscape Architect) and Alan Johnson (Licensed Engineer) to their second four-year terms. Congratulations and welcome!
