Capitol Area Library Consortium (CALCO) libraries work cooperatively
to promote and enhance library services in state government through
unique and diverse collections of resources. CALCO strives for easy
access to state government library services and resources by state
employees, local government officials, Minnesota citizens, and other
libraries nationwide.
- offer unique resources
Specialized collections are designed to support state government
agencies and services. Over one million items in CALCO libraries
include unique state government resources not available elsewhere.
- have a variety of formats and topics
Collections include books, journals, A/Vs, newspapers, microforms,
and electronic materials. The libraries include publications on
diverse topics including the arts, business and economics, environment
and natural resources, fire safety, health, history, law and legislation,
public policy, and transportation.
- have professional library staff
Experts can assist with finding information; give library and
Web resource advice and guidance; and provide referrals to other
libraries, individuals, or agencies.
- provide access to the public
Access the CALCO library collections in person, by using their
online library catalogs, or borrow their materials through inter-library
loan from your local library.
(Note: Some libraries are open to the public by appointment. Please
contact the library for policies before visiting.)
