Fish And Wildlife Populations

Minnesota's fish and wildlife are an important part of the state's natural and cultural heritage. The status of fish and wildlife populations reflects conditions on the land, in the water, and in the state's weather and climate. This indicator represents a selection of fish and wildlife species from a range of Minnesota's habitats.

For some wildlife species, the latest decade of data suggests a movement from stable to declining populations. The overall status of this selection of fish and wildlife species is considered to be poor due to observed population declines. Note: Careful monitoring is needed to determine whether population fluctuations featured in the table are part of a true, declining trend, or represent natural cyclical changes in population.

This document (.xlsx) provides the indicator data in table format.
