Victoria DeFord is a senior-level human resources professional with over 35 years of public sector experience. Victoria is responsible for leading human resources activities for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system office. Her leadership includes areas related to recruitment, training, employee misconduct investigations, organization development, labor relations, benefits, compensation and classification. Victoria also serves in the role as manager for all executive searches for MNSCU presidents and members of the Chancellor’s cabinet.
Prior to joining Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Victoria served in positions of increasing responsibility in human resources departments (specializing in human resources development and organization development), including Hennepin County, Hennepin County Medical Center, Hennepin County Library, and most recently she was human resources deputy director for Washington County. Victoria received her master’s in Human Resource Development with certifications in Organization Development and Labor Relations from the University of St. Thomas. She holds Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification from the Society of Human Resources Management and serves on the board of the Minnesota chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
Victoria has been a Special Olympics certified coach for 9+ years in golf, track and field, bowling and swimming. Victoria’s favorite role is being Auntie to her adorable seven year old niece.
