MDVA is committed to providing dignified and compassionate burial options for Veterans, often one of the only benefits they request. The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, which opened in June 1994, was originally established through the efforts of many individuals and Veterans’ organizations - and today is operated by the State of Minnesota. This award-winning cemetery is located on 37 acres of land adjacent to Camp Ripley and regularly receives satisfaction survey ratings at or above 97 percent for handling of burials, overall appearance of grounds and facilities and courtesy of staff. The cemetery has also been recognized by the NCA’s Veterans Cemetery Grants Program “Excellence of Appearance.” Only four of the 85 state Veterans cemeteries in operation have been honored with this award.

In addition to our State Veterans Cemetery, services available to eligible Veterans and spouses include Military Funeral Honors, Grave Markers, Presidential Memorial Certificates, the Nationwide Gravesite Locator, and a list of State of Minnesota Memorials. Please visit the federal U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for burial information through Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
