Marriage and Family Therapy is the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, whether affective, behavioral, or cognitive, within the context of family systems. When working with individuals, couples, families, or other large systems, the marriage and family therapist conceptualizes and implements treatment from a systemic perspective or framework.

Rule Revision: A draft rule revision is under consideration by the Board’s Rules Committee. Once adopted by the full Board, the proposed rule revision will be available for distribution and comment to all licensees and interested stakeholders. It is anticipated the proposed rule revision will be available for review spring 2014 and will be posted on the Board’s website at that time.
