Minnesota Barber Instructor Registration Requirements:
1)Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED
2)Be a Minnesota registered (master) barber for the prior three years
3)Complete instructor training from a Board approved program or accredited college or university program including the following courses or their equivalent as determined by the Board:
Introduction to Career and Technical Education Teaching
Philosophy and Practice of Career and Technical Education
Course Development for Career and Technical Education
Instructional Methods for Career and Technical Education and;

4)Submit a completed Instructor Examination application and fee to the board office
5)Instructor exams are given in May and November, the exam consists of:
A 50 question multiple choice written exam covering Minnesota Statute and Rules
A written lesson plan outlining a barbering lesson that may be presented in a barber school
A 10 to 15 minute presentation based upon the lesson plan provided
Yes, if your registration is current and due for renewal. Go to the Registrations tab above and select on line renewal.
You CANNOT do a late renewal or renew an expired registration on line. Please contact the office for information regarding late renewal or assistance reinstating an expired registration.
