Governor Dayton statement on passing of Eleanor Mondale Poling

Today Governor Mark Dayton released the following statement on the passing of Eleanor Mondale Poling:

"I note with great sadness the passing of Eleanor Mondale Poling, daughter of Vice President Walter and Joan Mondale. From the shy teenager I first met, Eleanor transformed -- and transcended! -- into a very beautiful, poised, multi-talented, and accomplished woman. She loved her family, friends, and animals, as she loved life.

"She battled her cancer heroically and endured its agonies courageously. I extend my deepest condolences to her family, who loved her so dearly."
