Statement from Governor Dayton on Steel Dumping Ruling

July 11, 2014

Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce ruled in favor of Minnesota workers whose jobs were put at risk due to the illegal dumping of steel in U.S. markets. The Commerce Department’s decision comes after Governor Mark Dayton sent a letter to President Obama this week urging the Administration to enforce the law, and end this illegal market activity. The following is a statement from Governor Dayton regarding today’s ruling:

“Today's decision is a huge victory for Minnesota steelworkers. I thank President Obama and the U.S. Commerce Department for acting to halt this illegal dumping, which threatened the jobs of hard-working Minnesotans.”
