    August 01, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Ms. Diane B. Bratvold, Ms. Hilary Lindell Caligiuri, Mr. William J. Fisher, and Mr. Juan G. Hoyos as District Court Judges in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District. The appointees will be filling the vacancies created upon the appointment of the Honorable Denise D. Reilly to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the retirements of the Honorable Ann L. Alton, the Honorable Mary S. DuFresne, and the Honorable Mark S. Wernick. These district court judgeships will be chambered at Minneapolis in Hennepin County in the Fourth Judicial District.
  • 99% of Job-Creating Permits Now Completed in 150 Days or Less
    August 01, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Dayton’s efforts to significantly reduce the time it takes to issue job-creating environmental permits are paying off. Business permits that used to take months, and sometimes even years for state agencies to complete, are now being issued in less than 150 days. A report issued today by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) confirms the success of new reforms implemented by the Governor in 2011, showing that 99 percent of all “priority permits” are now issued within the state’s 150 day goal. The report also shows that 94 percent of all permits are now finished within 150 days.
  • Statement from Governor Dayton on Flood-Affected Counties
    August 01, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – This morning, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management announced that the federal government has added 24 more counties and two tribal governments to the President’s Disaster Declaration following this summer’s flooding. Altogether, 32 counties and two tribal governments have been included in the declaration and approved for federal assistance. Six flood-affected counties are still under review by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The following is a statement from Governor Mark Dayton.
  • Governor Dayton Launches Blue Ribbon Committee to Enhance National Prominence of University of Minnesota Medical School
    August 01, 2014 - ST. PAUL, MN – Fifty years after declaring a pre-Med major in college, Governor Mark Dayton today launched a milestone effort to enhance the national prominence of the University of Minnesota Medical School. Governor Dayton today signed Executive Order 14-13 establishing a Blue Ribbon Committee on the University of Minnesota Medical School. The Committee will advise the Governor and Legislature on strategies and state investments to ensure the state’s preeminent medical school is a national leader in medical training, research, and innovation.
  • Over 200 Rochester Families Benefit from Early Learning Scholarships
    July 31, 2014 - ROCHESTER, MN – More than 200 Rochester families have benefitted from new Early Learning Scholarships funded by Governor Mark Dayton and the Minnesota Legislature. Governor Dayton visited an early learning program at Northrup Elementary School in Rochester this morning to meet with some of the students benefitting from this new initiative, and to highlight the impact these scholarships are making in preparing Minnesota’s youngest learners for success in school and life.

  • PERBIX Moving to Brooklyn Park
    July 31, 2014 - The company said it will invest $1.1 million on tenant improvements to a leased building that will serve as its headquarters and general operations. About 75 employees at the company’s existing operations in Golden Valley will move to the new site in the North Cross Business Park at Highways 610 and 169. The new jobs will be created within three years.
