February 28, 2014 - As the 2014 Legislative Session gets underway, Governor Mark Dayton and the Minnesota Legislature acted quickly to provide additional state funding that will help keep Minnesotans safe and warm during this winter’s propane emergency. The first bill signed into law by Governor Dayton this session (HF2374/SF1961) adds $20 million to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), to give approximately 180,000 Minnesotans the financial help they need to pay their heating bills this winter.

PAUL, MN – As the 2014 Legislative Session gets underway, Governor Mark Dayton has announced that Matt Massman will serve as his new Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative Affairs. Massman, who previously served as Deputy Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Revenue, will fill the vacancy left when Jaime Tincher was promoted to serve as the Governor’s Chief of Staff earlier this month. As Deputy Chief of Staff, Massman will be responsible for managing the Governor’s legislative agenda and policy initiatives.

February 24, 2014 - The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that two judgeship vacancies are occurring in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District Court. These vacancies were created upon the retirements of the Honorable Donald E. Rysavy and the Honorable Fred W. Wellmann. Both seats will be chambered at Austin in Mower County.
