PAUL, MN – Minnesota resident veterans with 100 percent service-connected permanent disability can apply for a free permanent card that allows them to receive a free small game and either-sex deer hunting license each year, according to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The discussion highlighted new investments in early childhood education that were made by Minnesota this year, as well as tens of millions of dollars in new federal funding the state would receive under an early learning proposal put forward by President Barack Obama.

PAUL, MN –The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota’s Fifth Judicial District. This vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable David W. Peterson. This district court judgeship will be chambered at Redwood Falls in Redwood County in the Fifth Judicial District.
  • More Veterans Now Eligible for Minnesota GI Bill Benefits
    July 15, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN – As Minnesota’s “Hire a Veteran Month” continues, Governor Mark Dayton announced today that July also marks the new expansion of eligibility for Minnesota GI Bill benefits. This session Governor Dayton signed a measure designed to give more Minnesota veterans access to the financial aid resources they need to pursue a higher education. For many Minnesota veterans who were previously ineligible for GI Bill benefits, that could mean up to $10,000 to help pay for college or other post-secondary studies.

    July 11, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN –Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey M. Bryan as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. Mr. Bryan will be replacing the Honorable J. Thomas Mott, who retired earlier this year. The judgeship will be chambered at St. Paul in Ramsey County.
  • Economic Update is Good News for Minnesota Schools
    July 10, 2013 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, the Minnesota Department of Management and Budget (MMB) released its quarterly economic update, showing that due to strong economic growth, the state has collected an additional $463 million above previous revenue forecasts. The education bill signed into law this session by Governor Dayton requires that this new revenue be used to accelerate the payback of funds borrowed from local school districts by previous legislatures.

    July 09, 2013 - Today, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple, and South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard, sent the attached letter to John Boehner, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. The letter urges Congress to pass a new farm bill.
