Two weeks upon returning from a trade mission to China, Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon is still feeling good about the progress made, the discussions had, and the relationships built during the weeklong trip that took place in October.
In a discussion with Politics in Minnesota published yesterday, the Lieutenant Governor shared her thoughts on important outcomes that came out of the China visit.
While there, she attended the Canton Trade Fair in Guangzhou, which can be seen in the photo above, and met with many Chinese Leaders, including Xie Feng, China’s equivalent to a deputy foreign minister, and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. In the article, the Lieutenant Governor detailed some of those conversations:
“What I wanted [Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao] to know is that there were more than 100 Minnesota companies that are doing business in China and that those have been very workable relationships so far.” She says. “And we’d like to continue and expand upon that.”
Lieutenant Governor Prettner Solon summed up the trip, satisfied with the results that came from it:
“I felt like we accomplished much more than I had expectations of accomplishing,” she says. “I thought that we developed very positive relationships.”
