Nominations being accepted for Commissioner's Awards

DHS will again honor its community partners — counties, tribes, providers, individuals, advocacy groups and others  — for excellence through the Commissioner's Circle of Excellence Awards. The awards are an opportunity to honor the recipients, highlight their work in the local media and share the best practices they represent with others in the human services system. Nominations are being accepted through Friday, Oct. 12.

Criteria to consider when making a nomination include but are not limited to:

  • Supports the goals and activities in the Framework for the Future: 2012
  • Contributes to the DHS mission, current goals or priority projects
  • Demonstrates results
  • Has an impact on clients
  • Partners with others in the human services system.

Eleven DHS partners were honored by Commissioner Lucinda Jesson at a ceremony Jan. 20 at the Elmer L. Andersen Human Services Building. The Circle of Excellence Award winners for 2011 are highlighted in a news release and in short videos on the DHS website.
