    July 16, 2015 - Minnesota gained 2,900 jobs in June – a welcome reversal after employers cut 200 jobs in May. The state’s unemployment rate was up 0.1 percent in June to 3.9 percent, according to figures released today by DEED.

    July 01, 2015 - DEED awarded $6.36 million to 22 groups that offer programs to help young people gain work skills and job experience. The grants were awarded through the agency’s Office of Youth Development, which provides youth employment, training, and education programs and services.

  • Mendell, Inc Expanding in Lakeville
    June 17, 2015 - Mendell, Inc. announced plans today to expand its operations in Lakeville and add 25 full-time jobs. The company said it will spend $2.36 million to renovate an existing facility at 21463 Grenada Ave. and build an 18,700-square-foot addition. The new jobs, which the company plans to add within three years, will pay an average wage of $24.67 an hour.
  • Grant Supports Training for Felling Trailers Workforce
    June 17, 2015 - DEED has awarded Alexandria Technical and Community College a $242,819 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program grant to train the entire workforce of Felling Trailers, Inc.
