  • DEED Awards $3.18 Million for Youth Employment Programs
    July 01, 2015 - DEED awarded $3.18 million to 22 groups that offer programs to help young people gain work skills and job experience. The grants were awarded through the agency’s Office of Youth Development, which provides youth employment, training, and education programs and services.
  • Business Services Firms Remain Optimistic on Economy
    June 30, 2015 - Minnesota business services firms have a positive outlook about the economy, with 88 percent saying they expect revenue to climb or remain stable in the coming year.     June 22, 2015 - The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) was awarded a $5.75 million grant by the U.S. Department of Labor to help fund job training in high-growth sectors, including advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care, information technology and transportation.

    June 18, 2015 - The Minnesota unemployment rate climbed 0.1 percent in May to 3.8 percent and employers cut 200 jobs, according to seasonally adjusted figures released today by DEED.
  • Mendell, Inc Expanding in Lakeville
    June 17, 2015 - Mendell, Inc. announced plans today to expand its operations in Lakeville and add 25 full-time jobs. The company said it will spend $2.36 million to renovate an existing facility at 21463 Grenada Ave. and build an 18,700-square-foot addition. The new jobs, which the company plans to add within three years, will pay an average wage of $24.67 an hour.

    June 17, 2015 - DEED has awarded Alexandria Technical and Community College a $242,819 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program grant to train the entire workforce of Felling Trailers, Inc.

    June 16, 2015 - Fifty small businesses in Minnesota have been approved for more than $309,000 in funding under a state program designed to help them increase sales in foreign markets.
  • Caterpillar Paving Products Expanding in Brooklyn Park
    June 12, 2015 - Caterpillar Paving Products will add 31 production jobs and invest $3 million to expand and update its manufacturing facilities in Brooklyn Park. Caterpillar Paving Products, part of the Diversified Products Division of Peoria, Ill., based Caterpillar Inc., makes paving machines used in road and highway construction.
  • Dubow Textile Inc. Expanding in St. Cloud
    June 05, 2015 - Dubow Textile Inc. is expanding its workforce by 20 employees and building a 21,000-square-foot addition at its operations in St. Cloud. The company is investing $1.5 million to expand and modify its current facility at 455 Lincoln Ave. NE.
  • Minnesota Companies Honored for Work in Exporting and Attracting Foreign Investment
    June 04, 2015 - ST. PAUL – Five Minnesota companies that have built successful global markets will be honored as winners of the 2014 Governor’s International Trade Awards during an award ceremony at the James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul. The companies were selected for developing and continuing to grow a significant part of their business in foreign markets, for increasing or maintaining jobs in Minnesota to support international sales, and for developing novel approaches for competing globally.
