Community Rehabilitation Providers

Overview

Community Rehabilitation Providers are companies, nonprofit organizations, agencies or individuals under contract to provide employment support to clients with disabilities served by Minnesota's vocational rehabilitation services programs.

They are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Accreditation is an assurance that the provider conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for persons served.

Forms and Contracts

VRS Professional Technical (PT) Master Contracts

PT contracts with Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) are effective for five years. Limited Use Vendors are capped at $20,000 per year with PT contracts in place for up to two years. PT contracts with Centers for Independent Living (CILs) state certified to provide independent living services will be in place for 5 years. View a Sample PT Contract

Amending Contracts

Routine requests to amend contracts by adding, deleting or modifying existing services are handled through a consultative process on an as needed basis. Requests to add new or innovative services that have not typically been offered under previous PT contracts (or historic operating agreements) will be considered for VRS review as an innovation and expansion activity.

Application Process

Under state contracting requirements, CRPs, LUVs, and CILs must complete an application to be a vendor of services. The application is reviewed and approved by DEED staff. As a result of the application process, a new contract number will be assigned to each organization.

 CARF Accreditation

Vocational rehabilitation services staff will continue to monitor CARF accreditation status for CRPs. Failure to maintain CARF accreditation will result in the termination of the PT contract.
