A kick-off event to announce this public-private partnership aimed to boost financial capability for Minnesota students and adults will be presented to community, business, and education leaders through demonstrations and a visual game show event.
Minnesota Department of Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman and TCF Bank Vice Chairman Tom Jasper will face off with a group of local high school students to test their financial knowledge.
Responding to the need to bolster financial literacy, the new TCF Bank Financial Learning Center offers a non-commercial online curriculum for adults to gain a firm understanding of money management. The program is free during the month of April, which is nationally recognized as Financial Capability Month. The online curriculum was developed by EverFi, a leading education company.
The event also celebrates the milestone of 2,000 Minnesota students participating in the teacher-led TCF Bank Financial Scholars program and announces a new Facebook quiz to “find your financial animal” based on spending and savings habits. TCF Bank’s goal is to boost the “Financial IQ” of 2 million Americans in three years with this program.
