25, 2013 - SAINT PAUL, MN — State Representative Joe Atkins (DFL – Inver Grove Heights), Senator Jim Metzen (DFL – Inver Grover Heights) and Mike Rothman, Commissioner of the Department of Commerce, will hold a town hall to discuss financial issues for Minnesota seniors on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 AM. Department of Commerce continues to recommend significantly smaller rate increases for Xcel Energy

Department of Commerce warns of salespeople pitching energy savings from radiant barriers

10, 2013 - The Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources has issued an alert to consumers who are considering the purchase of radiant barriers in their attics. The Commerce Department, which has received recent reports of salespeople pitching the radiant barrier product in flyers and at free dinners throughout Minnesota, warns consumers that radiant barriers are not a cost-effective way to reduce heating or cooling loads in Minnesota.
