  • $7.1 million in rebates have been committed to 2,180 households.

  • $24.1 million in Fix-Up Fund loans have been closed, meaning the money is in the hands of consumers and ready to pay contractors

  • Average loan $11,100

  • Average rebate $3,100

  • Estimated annual energy savings 42,000 MMBTU

Background:

Provided rebates equal to 35% of the cost of the eligible improvements not to exceed $10,000 per household.
For contracted work on single family homes, duplexes up to four-plexes, a unit in a condominium, townhomes, and an individual unit in a planned unit development. All work financed by an MHFA Fix-up Fund or Community Fix-up Fund loan originated by a lender participating in the Energy Saver Rebate Program.

The following improvements were eligible for rebate:

  • High-efficiency Energy Star furnaces, boilers, and central air conditioners

  • Energy Star replacement windows

  • Energy Star replacement exterior doors

  • Energy Star light fixtures

  • Insulation in conjunction with air sealing

  • Water heaters if "orphaned" due to furnace replacement
