On March 5, the Department of Commerce hosted two training sessions for Minnesota utilities and their partners on the use of ESP® for program operations and tracking. These sessions were recorded and will be available on the CARD Grant Program Update webpage in the near future.
The morning session was titled “ESP 101.” CIP staff members Joe Plummer and Mark Garofano began with an overview of Minnesota’s Technical Reference Manual for CIP and how it has been functionalized in ESP as a Smart Measure™ library to provide Minnesota utilities with pre-approved calculators for tracking and reporting energy savings. Mike Myser of Energy Platforms then provided an overview on the basics of creating projects and applying Smart Measures in ESP.
Leo Steidel of Energy Platforms presented the afternoon session on “ESP Advanced Operations.” This session focused on the various ways to configure user teams, helpers, program designs, and custom workflows in ESP.
Commerce will soon be offering an optional training session on the use of ReportingESP by electric cooperatives and municipal utilities for reporting 2013 CIP results and 2015 plans. Look for an announcement and registration instructions soon.
ESP is ready to use now for your program operations. Any utility employee that has an existing account in ReportingESP can use the same username and password to log into ESP. Please contact Leo Steidel of Energy Platforms for help in getting started using ESP.
