The eHEAT software is available on a website, accessible only to service providers, vendors and other approved users. Agencies will need to maintain Internet access, as the application runs using an Internet browser. The browser requirements will be Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above or Netscape 6.0 or above. Users will need Internet access with the hardware and software that entails. Some agencies may need additional computers with Internet access to meet the local needs for the eHEAT software. eHEAT will not use Windows, and there is no need to load the system locally or distribute it on CD-ROMs. Users will not have to purchase the eHEAT program because it will be stored on a server at the State of Minnesota. Downloaded reports will be available in CSV (a text format) and Excel. The minimum version of Excel will be Excel 97. A network of trainers will be available to answer questions, serving as a help desk. With this centralized online system, much of the existing demand for technical support will not be needed. The eHEAT project scope specifically includes sharing information with our partners, including the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) and CAMIS. We are committed to supporting development of a process for transferring records from eHEAT to the existing system. Out of scope for eHEAT is ROMA reporting.
