REPORTING CONTINUING EDUCATION is NOT required this year. The current (3) year reporting cycle is from 12/1/15 -11/30/18.
RENEWAL OPTIONS: Online at our secure website – Please don’t wait until the last day, as the Thanksgiving Holiday is near the deadline and staff will be unavailable to assist you with any login or technical difficulties. Also, we cannot guarantee your employer will be able to verify your license renewal if you wait until November 30th to renew. You must have an ACTIVE license with an expiration date of 11/30/2017 to practice on December 1st!
If you are not renewing your license and requesting a voluntary termination status, notify us in writing by mail or email to avoid an administrative termination.
To avoid the late fee of $37.50, your renewal must be postmarked or completed online by 11/30/2016.
What to do if you have a name change: We need validation of your name change. This documentation need only be a photocopy of the document changing your name, i.e. marriage license/certificate, divorce decree. Fax, scan and email, or mail the copy to the Board office. There is no fee for this service. Your name will be updated in the database. During renewals it is best to send in the name change documents first and then renew once the name change has occurred in the database. Your renewal certificate will be issued in your new name.

The Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice is responsible for protection of the public through the regulation of dietitians and nutritionists in the State of MN. The board was established in 1995 under the authority of MN Statutes, Chapter 148, and MN Rules, Chapter 3250. MN Statutes define licensure and states in 148.630 (a) No person may engage in dietetics or nutrition practice unless the person is licensed as a dietitian or nutritionist by the Board. No person may use the title “dietitian,” “licensed dietitian,” “nutritionist,” “licensed nutritionist, or any other occupational title using the word “dietitian” or nutritionist” unless so licensed by the board, nor shall any person hold out dietitian or nutritionist unless so licensed.
