Incineration - Carcass Disposal
Incineration is an effective but more costly method. It is a good cold weather alternative to burial.
Requirements:
- Carcass must be incinerated in a PCA-approved incinerator. (MN Rule 7011.1215)
- Ash and gas emissions from the incinerator must not exceed pollution standards.
Advantages
- Can be performed year-round
- Low biosecurity risk
Disadvantages
- Expensive
- Causes odor
