Dairy Industry Input Requested

Submitted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) is seeking input from stakeholders of the U.S. dairy industry to help develop objectives for Dairy 2014, NAHMS fifth national dairy study. Specifically, NAHMS is asking representatives of producer organizations, universities, State and Federal dairy health and production personnel, and others allied with the dairy industry to identify their informational needs, priorities, and the most important issues facing the U.S. dairy industry. Stakeholders can provide their input by completing a 5-minute survey.

Surveys must be completed by December 14, 2012. Input from stakeholders was essential to the success of the last NAHMS dairy study, Dairy 2007, which contributed greatly to the knowledge of industry management practices and major diseases of dairy cattle. With input from industry stakeholders like you, the NAHMS Dairy 2014 study can build on the accomplishments of Dairy 2007. The results from previous NAHMS studies are also available on USDA site. For comments and questions, please contact Dr. Jason Lombard at 970-494-7245 or jason.E.Lombard@aphis.usda.gov
